Facials HURT
Mar. 27th, 2018 04:15 pm Since my skin was getting worse, with more painful breakouts, I decided to see a pro about fixing this. The first two facials were fine, a bit tingly, the extractions were the most painful part of the session (and even then, only one or two were sore), but the third one? OW
She decided to use ethanol (? and other stuff, idk) on my face. Very warm feeling at first. I was asked to rate the heat/pain out of 10, 10 being i want to get up off the bed/bench. I rated it a 6 and she said, "ok I'll put it on your oily spots". Started brushing on just my cheeks and then just continued until she had covered my entire face in a second layer. "To use up the bottle,"she said but I wonder if my skin is just that oily, lol.
But then, she said "it's going to get a bit spicy now," and whatever she patted onto my face had it on fire. I very nearly jumped up, it was so hot and not right, but managed to last the 30 seconds required. Lads, the relief I felt when she brushed on whatever neutralised it. Intense stuff.
It's weird, when people (usually women) talk facials and peels on TV, they never really mention that they hurt. It's framed as an indulgent beauty treatment that feels nice - or at least, that's how I always inferred it. It really isn't. If you were stuck, a beautician/skin care expert would make a handy torturer.
My skin is going to be peeling the next few days, I'm probably going to have a breakout what with all the cells being stimulated, but hopefully it'll all work out soon, and my skin will stay healthy with just a good cleaning routine.
