donated to writscrib
Jul. 16th, 2017 02:07 pm I'm not a great person for donating to projects I like, usually just the odd charity or two. But WritScrib seems interesting - they sound like a more focused Imzy (and by more focused I mean that they know who they're audience is, they're able to say how creators and fans alike could use WritScrib, though I've mostly seen how the site could benefit creators).
I know Imzy had a payment thing, through Stripe (I think??), and WritScrib will have one too, but through paypal at first. Their Chips payment + trying to sell themselves to creators and people who want to support creators seems like a cool idea (to quote them: "Online Busking for Creative Minds"), and a strong selling point imo. That and their no harassment policy is quite appealing to me.
I've mainly seen their social media on tumblr, and they're great at answering questions quickly and in a friendly manner. It's all very hands-on, and it gives me confidence in their product.
I do want an alternative to tumblr where I engage with people more (which I do more now that I'm on dreamwidth, though I'm still getting used to it), and I've seen creators and fans alike enthusiastic about WritScrib, so it feels like it will do well.
and lol even if it doesn't work out I only donated $10, which is like €8/9
